Live With Intent
Adopting this mantra can take you further than you may think. We each have our own unique desires and ambitions, however, pointing them out can make a big difference in your day-to-day life. Start by asking yourself the following questions:- Who am I?
- What are my goals?
- How am I going to achieve them?
Organizing your thoughts and writing it in a journal will help give you motivation and a sense of direction. I mean, who doesn’t need a little extra push? As simple as this sounds, executing your goals requires some hard work and dedication as well. While it's great to have long term goals, it's also important to have short terms goals as those are the milestones that help you reach your larger vision.
Stay Positive
We are human– we all make mistakes and not everything goes as planned, so dwelling on your problems won’t do anything. However, if you can identify your negative thoughts and change your mindset, you can make a positive turn on your life. Psychologist and author of Mindset, Carol Dweck, highlights the impact of having a growth mindset– where your challenges in life are seen an opportunity to grow and learn, rather than as an obstacle.” This allows you to maintain positive thinking because you are now looking at the glass half full. Ultimately, your thinking can shape how you perceive any situation you come across.
Unplug
It’s easy to get caught up in life’s demands– whether it’s your responsibilities, relationships, career, and even social media– which is why it’s important to find time to disconnect. Given that we each have our own unique demands, how you decide to "unplug" will be different each and every one of us. But taking a break from the digital world, spending time with your loved ones, taking time to yourself, or doing whatever relieves you from stress will make your life feel so much more balanced.Nourish Your Body and Soul
Striving to live a healthy lifestyle is another key to balance. Eating well, staying active, getting enough sleep, and taking your vitamins are just a few things you should incorporate in your life. People tend to mistake being healthy as eating a salad and going to the gym every day, but it goes beyond that. It means incorporating nutritious fruits and veggies into your diet, not overworking yourself and even getting a good night's sleep. Healthy means nourishing your body and mind which will improve your mood and keep your body working the way it should be. Ultimately, strive to become the best version of yourself, live your life, and do what makes you happy– and do it with compassion, conviction, and purpose. There is nothing more important than that.
